Welcome to a celebration of Art and the Artistry of Presentation. You have
arrived at the home page of the Steele Pointe Art Gallery, Art
Brokerage and Custom Frame Studio of Springfield, Ohio... we are honored to have you
visit us !Before you explore the site please take a moment to read through this initial page. And if you would like to learn a little more about us, please use this link to jump to our About Us page. Here's some information that I want you to have... first, this website works on simplicity... no flashy blinkie things, no talking avatars, no videos and no slide shows... just a simple presentation of art by a group of very talented artists. Secondly, earlier this year I discovered that I had a relatively serious illness which required intensive treatment... the treatment was successful... but, my perspective and priorities have changed... slowly we're working our way out of having a physical gallery, but this is not expected to happen anytime soon. To counter-balance this movement I have re-doubled my efforts to create a comprehensive and user-friendly virtual gallery. Unexpectedly this has taken a nice turn, artists are approaching us about being included while, at the same time, we are discovering and asking new artists to join us. What does this mean for you... and, for the artists? First, a website where you will be able to see the art of both established artists and emerging, yet-to-be-recognized, painters, printmakers, sculptors, photographers and others. In turn, this brings new art before you at prices within your budget. And for our artist friends, it means more money in their pockets, as well... our gallery charges it's artists far less than other local and major galleries, who commonly demand up to 50% of the artist's asking price. The Steele Pointe Art Gallery's maximum commission percentage is 25% and, in many cases, less. Art purchased through the Steele Pointe Gallery will leave more money in your pocket, while putting more in the pockets of the artists. Let me add one more dimension to what I've said above... we're not above approaching artists whose art you have seen in high-priced galleries and asking them to allow our gallery to sell the artwork for them. Why would we do that? Because we honestly believe that these very talented artists deserve the greater preponderance of the sale, and you, the buyer, deserve a lower, unadjusted (to off-set a high gallery commission) price. If you take advantage of this offer be 99% sure that your intensions are to acquire the art or a similar work of art by the artist and that you are willing to allow the artist time to tactfully remove/rotate-out his or her art from the other gallery.
We expect that the sale of
our facility will end our ability to offer some works of art At a time in the future when our facility is sold and we receive an art order from you, your purchase will be shipped to you directly from the artist and craftsmen associated with the gallery. You have our assurance that every artist and every owner/craftsman providing goods and services for the Steele Pointe Art Gallery is personally known to us and is reputable... we stake our reputation on it. Secondary market sales will continue to be handled personally by Rita and I... all items will pass through us for inspection and accuracy of description before being delivered to you. Here is information about PURCHASING items from the Gallery that we suggested that you read... this has been put together an anticipation of the changes. Please take the time to enjoy our artists' personal galleries (Artists) and the links to their websites, where and when applicable. We believe you will also enjoy the items found in the specialized galleries (Galleries) which have been created to display and offer Gallery-owned art, rarities and art-related items consigned to the gallery for sale. This site is about art, artists and framing... it's about creative, insightful people (both near-at-hand and far away) whose art rightfully deserves recognition. If we strayed from this purpose, or, if our goal of creating a simple and user-friendly website has not been met, please let us know. All comments, suggestions and in-sights are welcome. from art publishing houses, but not all. Likewise, our ability
to frame works of art will be curtailed significantly. We do, however,
anticipate remaining a resource for finished frames such as the
exquisite leather-wrapped frames and accessories from the House of Mercier
and the very elegant replacement frames for art masterpieces from A.P.F.
Munn.
These frames and accessories will be highlighted separately in other
sections of this website.
