The photographic works displayed on this page are a sampling of the collection of Jim Dawson. Jim's primary means for capturing these image have been on film, most - if not all - were taken with large format film cameras, Large format negatives allow Jim a great deal of versatility for sizing the finished print to meet the need of the client. All photographs in this gallery, and those link by this gallery to Jim's website, are available as limited edition prints with most being limited to no more than 50 prints in the edition. All the monochrome (black & white) photographs are silver gelatin prints made in a traditional darkroom and archivally processed for a very long display time - perhaps 100 years or more. The color photographs are all scanned and printed on archival photographic paper with an estimated display life of 75 to 100 years. Category 1: Category 1 prices are for prints that are limited editions of 50 prints or less (sometimes less than 25 in the edition) in which les than 1/3 of the prints in the edition are still available. The prices of these prints are somewhat higher because of the limited availability of the remaining prints in each edition.
