"Making the Unusable Usable Again"

   As I have said on a number of occasions, we're about art in whatever form we might find it... and, I am thinking Jimmy Miller's crib creations are one of those less-than-traditional art forms that the Gallery may, on occasion, encounter. I believe that what you are about to discover in this gallery is a form of "green" art, art created by using the unusable in a usable manner, again. 

  Beginning in late 2008, Jimmy Miller emailed the Gallery asking if we would consider adding his crib creations to our WebPages.  At that moment in time, I honestly doubted that I would find serious artistic expression in Mr. Miller's crib creations, but I am always open to being surprised, and I was! In spite of an often brutal winter, we met and I was very pleasantly surprised to discover a talented young artist whose works of art exceeded the gallery's artistic expectations.  Mr. Miller specialty is functional art.

   Each creation is unique. Jimmy will intentionally leave minor blemishes in the work so that we not forget that the bench was once a beloved crib.  In certain instances, finger nail and teeth marks will adorn the wood rails and posts. The benches (and play cribs) are available in 18 colors and three design options.  

   In describing these crib creations I think it is important to remind the buyer that Jimmy's creations are created from materials which were once components of baby cribs... furniture intended to keep a young baby or child corralled and in-check... rough use of this furniture by heavy-handed older children and young adults is not recommended by the gallery.

    Jimmy tells me that he has a good selection of cribs to begin the creation of a bench or play crib to fit you requirements.  Also, you have the option of having your crib converted to a bench or play crib... in this way it comes with a lifetime of memories. Handcrafted by the artist, each piece is a one-of-a-kind work of art.
