Image Conscious Open Edition Art

       The Image Conscious Art Publishing House is a primary source of open edition prints for the Steele Pointe Art Gallery and Brokerage... why ?... because of the diversity and large number of offerings, combined with a good price for a good print on good paper stock.  If price is a major consideration, then open edition artwork is a good option... but, keep in mind that open edition prints at these prices are no where near the quality of the prints published by the major fine art publishing houses such as Mill Pond Press, Greenwich Workshop, Somerset House and Collector Editions.  We like open edition prints for commercial applications where damage and theft would not be a major concern.  Because Open Edition prints are economical, periodically changing out these prints in the same frames for a new look in the home, office or commercial business does not amount to a major expenditure.  Open edition prints are more flexible than original or limited edition prints since they can be trimmed (without financial consequences) to fit the frame... something which should never be considered with either an original or a limited edition print, unless you are willing to incur a huge loss in art value.

   Image Conscious - like other art publishing houses - has minimum purchase requirements.  Normally, when the Gallery gets a request for one print from Image Conscious we purchase additional prints which we think will sell to local consumers, to meet the minimum purchase requirements.  If we do this we equally share the shipping and handling cost with the purchaser.  Because there is so little profit for the gallery from these prints we try to encourage the purchaser to purchase both the print and framing... if this is done the Gallery incurs all shipping and handling costs.

   The image shown below are all quoted at the open edition print on paper cost... this is the lowest of costs.  Image conscious has recently come out with prints with larger or small dimensions (though there aren't many of these) and prints on canvas (un-stretched), on-canvas with small or large stretcher bars (un-stretched), canvas stretched (staples along the sides), canvas with a museum wrap (white sides, staples in the back), and canvas with a gallery wrap (image wrapped around sides with staples in the back). These options, of course, vary in cost.  It appears that all prints on canvas are canvas transfers and not canvas giclees (prints printed onto the canvas).
